As a responsible event supplier, Qdos Event Hire believes that accessibility and inclusion should be at the heart of our service offering. There are actually very few event suppliers offering the range of accessible products that we have. We pride ourselves on the quantity and quality of the kit that is dedicated to those who are differently abled and we work closely with our clients to assist them in making their events accessible and inclusive.
From an accessibility perspective all our cabins come fitted with wider doors as standard and the addition of a ramp makes them instantly accessible. We also have multiple accessible toilets and showers suitable for any site or location. These include:
- Mains accessible toilets with all the essentials such as an alarm pull cord and audible/visual exterior alarm.
- Accessible Shower Pods are for individual use and include fitted handrails, a domestic power shower and a drying area with a seat and ample space for manoeuvring. They are delivered with a fully integrated ramp, radar, 1m wide door and a panic alarm.
- Mobile accessible wetrooms comes with its own ramp offering complete accessibility and fitted with DDA compliant fixtures & fitting, emergency call alarm w/flashing Beacon.
- Accessible Single Unisex Portable Toilets.
In 2023 we added a Changing Places unit to our Scottish fleet. The purpose-built accessible unit has been designed specifically to improve an event’s inclusivity and ensure that everyone has access to high quality welfare facilities onsite.
Generously proportioned, there is plenty of space to accommodate a wheelchair, a user and two carers. The 5m x 3m unit comes complete with extra wide doors, toilet, sink, shower, hoist, drop-down rails, alarm pull cord and audible/visual exterior alarm.
Fully DDA compliant, it is suitable for both independent use and for those who need additional support and can be deployed to any event site. It has been onsite at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, The Open and Women’s Open.
The unit also has the backing of PAMIS, the only organisation in Scotland that works solely with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families for a better life.
In addition, we have numerous adapted vehicles that we provide should they be required.
