The Showman’s Show – The Outdoor Events Services Exhibition - welcomes all that work in the Outdoor Event Industry. We aim to be as inclusive as possible for anyone working or visiting the event with access needs.

Site Description: 

The Show takes place on an open showground site, offering generally flat terrain across the site with a mixture of grass, tarmac roadways and portable roadway.

Access to the main outdoor exhibiting space is through our large tented indoor exhibition space which has step free access.

It’s important to note that the Show is outdoors, and weather conditions may affect accessibility. 

The Exhibitors at the Show are responsible for the Accessibility onto and within their stand space. 

We will welcome back The Sustainable Events Summit to the Show. This venue will have step-free-access.

 

Travel Guide:

  • Parking and Drop-Off: Accessible parking spaces will be available approximately 15m away from the exhibition hall entrance for those with disabilities and valid blue badges. Our traffic management team will be on hand to guide you to these designated parking areas for easy access. Please note the carpark surface is grass. There is no need to book these in advance. If you require drop-off assistance, please let our team know upon arrival, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

  • Closest Train Station is Newbury station which provides the following services (Please do check with the station before you travel that all these services are in operation): 

    • Step-free-access to all platforms via lifts and an overbridge.

    • Accessible ticket machines and height-adjusted ticket office.

    • Induction Loop

    • Accessible Toilets

    • Accessible Taxis. You can approach a member of staff for assistance. Alternatively you can book an accessible taxi in advance from  https://www.wheelstaxis.co.uk/wheelchair-accessible-taxi/

  • There is a complementary Mini Bus Service from Newbury Train station to the Showground on the Show days. These shuttle buses are not currently wheel chair accessible. Please let us know by the 15th September if you have any accessibility requirements.

 

Bookable Access Services: 

Event Mobility (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) will be providing electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs at this.

Online bookings must be made 2 days before the event. Bookings cannot be taken during the event. If there is spare equipment available at the event it is offered on a first come, first served basis.

Arrival Guide: 

The site opens to visitors at 9.30am on Show days. You can collect your lanyard and visitor badge, if you have not printed it out already, from the registration desks at the entrance of the Exhibition Hall, which is about 15 meters from the Accessible Parking bays. 

If you haven’t registered to visit in advance of your arrival, or forgotten to print out  your visitor badge, you will be able to register for a visitor badge at the onsite registration desks. Please see our onsite staff for assistance.

Please make your visitor badge easily visible for our security teams to scan for entry into the exhibition area.

Please note that British Sign language, captioning or audio description is not currently offered. 

Toilets: 

There will be 3 Accessible Toilets on site. Located at key areas on the event site. Please refer to the site plan for locations.

Medical and Welfare Services: 

If you require medical assistance during the event, please head to our First Aid cabin located at our site office. You are welcome to bring any necessary medications, including diabetic medication and needles. Please ensure you carry them in clearly labelled containers. If you have a specific question about a medical need, please do get in touch.

Assistance Animals: 

Registered assistance animals are very welcome at the Show. The Show site is outdoors and there is ample space for your animal to have a comfort break. There will however also be a designated area for your animal to have a comfort break.
